Recently, the Ministry of Education announced a list of 2020 national and provincial-level first-class construction sites for undergraduate majors. Five ZUFE majors have been approved as state-level first-class undergraduate majors, and four as provincial-level first-rate undergraduate majors. So far, ZUFE has had 13 first-class construction sites for undergraduate majors at the national level and 24 at or above the provincial level, accounting for 53% of all enrolled majors.

The "Double Ten Thousand Plan" for the construction of first-class undergraduate majors is an important part of the implementation of the "Six Excellence and One Top Notch" Program 2.0 by the Ministry of Education. It is also a vital move to build world-class majors and cultivate top talents. Starting from 2019, it is spending three years to build about 10,000 national and provincial-level construction sites for first-class undergraduate majors. Identified in 2020 were a total of 3977 first-class undergraduate professional construction sites at the national level (including 1,387 central race tracks and 2,590 local race tracks) and 4448 at the provincial level for applications for the second batch of disciplines.

Recent years have witnessed ZUFE's implementation of the overall reform for the construction of undergraduate majors, carrying out projects for optimizing majors, strengthening dynamic adjustments of undergraduate majors and continuing to improve the majors' structural layout. At the same time, this university has vigorously promoted the engineering specialty and international business certification, enhancing the construction of new liberal arts and new engineering courses, exploring new teaching methods for classroom teaching reform, so as to consolidate specialty construction by conducting projects related to courses, textbooks, teaching reform and curriculum reform, and thus to effectively elevate the comprehensive competitiveness of these majors.
